I’m so excited I get to share this Day After session I show a couple months ago. I shot Corey + April’s wedding back in March and we wanted to do a Day After session with them. They are both big into stand up paddle boarding and I immediately knew that’s what we should do during the session. BUT with the water still being really cold, we put it off until it got a little warmer. And I’m mighty glad we did 🙂 We got up at sunrise and went out to the inlet behind their neighborhood. They often hook their paddle boards up up to their bikes and ride them down to the water. It could not have been a more perfect day and April + Corey were such good sports.
I love Day After sessions because it tends to be a more relaxed, less stressful session and your first one as husband and wife! The wedding day tends to be so rushed. It takes that burden off of you knowing you have a session together the next day in case you don’t get as many formal portraits together as you’d like. Plus you have more freedom to make the session truly reflect the two of you and who you are as a couple. Big shoutout to Matt from The Good Life Film Co. and Jason from Keller Photo for getting up bright and early with us to shoot a video with me for these sessions. And of course, hubby, for boating us around all morning 🙂 It was such a great day and watching the video just makes me want to do it again and again!
