So it can be easy to get complacent in your shooting and to lose the creative juice. It’s important to find times where you can shoot for yourself and shoot something you want to shoot. Of course the obvious answer for me was to shoot food. I love shooting food because it is perfectly acceptable to have low depth of field and show the detail of the food and shoot at different angles. I rarely shoot food except for my own silly fun but one weekend I asked my friend, Susan, who is an amazing cook and always has good stuff in her house, if she could fix me some fun things to shoot. One thing I realized is that when it’s this hot outside, you have to shoot fast! Especially when there’s whip cream involved.
